Where does propane come from?

Propane is a liquefied petroleum gas that is refined from raw crude oil and raw natural gas. It does not occur naturally. After it is refined, it is most often utilized as a gas while being delivered and stored under pressure as a liquid.

Is propane an environmentally friendly fuel?

Propane is one of the cleanest burning fuels available. It burns cleaner than gasoline and other fossil fuels and is therefore the best choice for the environment. It emits lower levels of carbon dioxide and particulates and does not produce any sulfur dioxide, a primary cause of the greenhouse effect.

Propane is non-toxic and it vaporizes quickly, so it will not contaminate soil or groundwater.

Propane is also a natural by-product of the crude oil or natural gas refining process and it is in plentiful supply; in fact there’s enough propane to meet America’s needs in the 21st century. Most of the propane used in Canada is produced right here. All these factors make propane one of the most versatile fuels available today.
